Konzelmann Estate Winery was originally founded in 1893 by Herbert Konzelmann's great-grandfather in Stuttgart, Germany . In 1984 Herbert Konzelmann made a decision to relocate their winemaking operation to Canada and he established their winery in Niagara on the Lake, along the shores of Lake Ontario. Today Konzelmann Estate Winery has become one of the most successful wineries in Canada. The winery has won numerous prestigious awards and recognitions at international competitions. The quality wine making tradition that was started by Herbert's great-grandfather almost 120 years ago is being carried on today by succeeding generations of Konzelmanns. Herbert's grandson Fabian recently joined the business from Germany, where he studied winemaking.
