In 1997, Joe, Will and Jane Langdon converted a sprawling fruit cannery into a winery and culinary centre that offers one of Niagara’s most in-depth visitor experiences, including the Wine Country Cooking School, winemaker dinners at Terroir La Cachette restaurant and daily tastings. From 10 hectares of Niagara Lakeshore grapes, Joe crafts structured, age-worthy, Bordeaux-style, Cabernet-based reds (his 2007 Terroir Cabernet Sauvignon was named best Cab Sauv at Cuvée 2011; at the same competition the Riesling Icewine won Gold for Icewine!) Aussie native, Marc Bradshaw, joined Strewn for the 2012 harvest and brings a wealth of experience as collaborating winemaker.
Strewn whites include Pinot Blanc, Riesling, Chardonnay, Sauvignon Blanc and Gewürztraminer. The long-lived Vidal Icewine also receives frequent awards. The portfolio includes the more affordable TwoVines brand, premium varietals, single-vineyard Terroir selections and Collectors wines, many available only at the winery.
