Tawse Winery

Category: Twenty Valley

Situated on the lower slopes of the Niagara Escarpment, Tawse is a family-owned organic and biodynamic winery, voted Canada's Winery of the year in 2010, 2011 and 2012. Moray Tawse's inspiration for the state-of-the-art, six-tier gravity-flow winery he built right into the Escarpment, came from his love of Burgundian Pinot Noir and Chardonnay. A fervent advocate of terroir, he has since expanded his portfolio to include the varietals that thrive on the Escarpment, such as the terroir-driven, award-winning Riesling, Cabernet Franc and Merlot crafted by Paul Pender and Rene Van Ede.
